Resistance, Resilience, and Repellence!

At Uniformal we work with a variety of high-quality unique materials. When selecting a choice for your company apron, it’s important to take into consideration the purpose of your apron. Some useful questions to ask yourself are:

  •  What tasks will be carried out whilst wearing the apron?

  • Who will be wearing the apron?

  • How long will the apron be worn for?

All of these are factors to consider which can help to inform your decision and to get the best fit for you and your business.

Materials we work with:

  • Waxed canvas

Waxed canvas is a unique material with not commonly used within the fashion industry. The fabric is lightweight and pliable which makes it comfortable to wear (which is great for busy shifts). As the material ages a marbling effect is developed further increasing the uniqueness of the material. This material is vegan friendly, waterproof, and very well lasting which is always good for your business.

  • Bovine Leather

We source our Bovine leather from Italy, the best quality bovine leather, which is durable and completely stain-resistant with minimal maintenance with a wipe-clean surface. The leather is sourced sustainably from the meat industry. The thick durable design is completely stain-resistant and water repellent, making it the perfect choice for the food and drinks industry.

  • Canvas

A breathable fabric which works to transmit moisture away from the fabric, while the fabric is not waterproof it still makes a comfortable fabric as it is absorbs moisture directing it away from the skin. The overall durability of the fabric makes it a suitable contender for longevity, as it washes well an on a regular cycle. In addition, depending on the manufacturing process, cotton is often hypoallergenic, making it suitable for any allergy sufferer.

  • Vintage denim

Our Vintage denim is a heavy-duty, long-lasting fabric that can withstand tough conditions. The material is naturally stylish and functional, making it easy to design. Which is perfect for more casual spaces, such as coffee shops.

  • Irish linen

Linen is a yarn or fabric made from flex and is well-known for its antibacterial properties. Due to its ability to wicks moisture and absorbs much quicker than cotton, linen is one of the strongest natural fibers known to man. As its completely lint free you don’t have to worry about your clothes being covered in fluff. By using material that is sourced from Ireland, it makes it more sustainable as the fabric does not have a far distance to travel.

The variety of choice and multiple factors to take into consideration can be an overwhelming task. However, don’t be dismayed as the right choice will not only ensure the company is represented well, but will also have a positive impact on your employees and your brand identity. If you are having any difficulties give us a call or head over to our showroom at fashion city where we can happily assist you through the process.

How to integrate a bow tie into your uniform!

Tomorrow is the big day. What? You don’t know which day tomorrow is? Of course, on the 28th of August it’s the national bow tie day. Now you might think that these are only worn at special occasions but there are a lot of ways to integrate a bow tie to your outfit.

Isn’t it difficult to tie a bow tie? How should I combine a bow tie? At which occasions is it okay to wear a bow tie? These are probably all the questions that you would think about when thinking about how to wear a bow tie. After you read this article, a lot more will be clearer to you, and we show you how to style and integrate a bow tie into your uniforms.

Origins of the bow tie

But let’s start at the beginning. The origins of a bow tie are not in France, but in Croatia. Yes, you heard right. At this time the French military forces imitated the necktie. This would help to keep the collars in order during the Thirty Years war in the 17th century.

Pierre Lorillard integrated the bow tie to his black and white fashion sense becoming the Tuxedo. Usually, the bow tie is worn to bring a focus to the neck which helps to stand out the eyes and face. Today a bow tie is worn at special occasions but even just combining a bow tie with jeans it can help you to give that little extra to your outfit. Even in uniforms there is the upcoming trend to use bow ties as a significant part to round up the whole image.

Effects of wearing a bow tie

“When you wear a bow tie, doors open for you. Your posture is a little more erect; your shoulders are a little further back; your style is a little more dynamic. It’s about the reestablishment of the gentleman.” – Dhani Jones

Use a bow tie in your uniforms to light up your bar, restaurant, hotel, or whatever place you have employees with uniforms. You can use different fabrics for a bow tie but a special one is a bow tie made of leather. Sounds nice, huh? And it really is! This will help you not only giving a nice posture, strong shoulders and a dynamic style but most importantly gives you luxuriousness to your uniforms.

A perfect match

But I just want to put the focus on the completing part to the bow tie. This is one of the most important parts to pop out your bow tie in the best way. The best option for uniforms with a bow tie is our high-quality aprons either of leather or another fabric with some leather details. This creates a gigantic symbiosis which is not only eye-catching but makes you customers feel well and in good hands. You can choose your apron from Cotton, Canvas, Vintage Denim, Hessian and Hide-Leather and recently added, Linen. Just have a look on our website about different fabrics or even better, contact us for further information!

The outstanding point to our aprons is the high-quality fabrics which are manufactured in Ireland. For the customizing we offer printing your logo on the aprons or even embroider it.  If you choose a leather apron, we are able to emboss your logo on our leather apron straps for extra impact. If you need any inspiration, you can visit our showroom and speak with us for any advisory.

Just combine your apron with a leather bow tie. You can choose if you like a Cognac, Espresso, Bordeaux, Sage, Olive, Charcoal or Black colour. We, at Uniformal, offer tied bows. This avoids the struggle to bow a tie and the possibility to be loosened. At every time well styled.

A tip: Make sure to have some leather details on your aprons with the same colour the leather bow tie has. This creates harmony in your whole outfit. To visualize that, look at the picture below. An Espresso coloured bow tie is combined with our aprons. The strap of the aprons has the same colour as the bow tie.

Other types of bow ties? No Problem!

You can style bow ties not only with aprons but also with suites, skirts, and knitwear. Just take a lighter fabric like a silk scarf and tie it to a bow. Sames as with our bespoke uniform designs. Our work apparel uniforms can be designed to your wishes and corporate design. We are working with fashion-leading specialists which can assist you in finding the right design.

Summed up it is important to get rid of the illusions only wearing bow ties at special occasions. Make sure that you combine the bow tie with some details of the fabric of the bow tie. With our leather bow tie, you could wear a leather belt with the same colour. Especially in your uniforms a certain harmony is important. So don’t mix to many colours to your uniform. You could also wear a bow tie in your corporate wear by taking a silk scarf and bow it to a tie. That gives the little extra that you want to achieve with your uniforms.

Now it’s your turn. Integrate on the national bow tie day a bow tie to your outfit to show other people how it’s done. You can use any type of bow tie for that. Share your ideas and thoughts about bow ties in the comments.
